WhatYou'll Bring
- A natural ability to build relationships — you genuinely enjoy getting to know people, and you can turn that into helping a client plan the event they envision, within their style and budget.
- A real love of planning parties and events. This can't just be a job to you — it must be something you're excited to do, with an eye for decor and a genuine interest in food and food trends.
- Curiosity — you like staying on top of what's trending in events, food, and design, and you bring fresh ideas rather than waiting to be told what to do. Comfort with social media and Canva (or similar tools) helps here.
- Comfort selling — including cold calling and proactively going after new business.
- Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to juggle multiple events at once.
- Maturity and professionalism; prior event-planning experience is a plus but not required, and a marketing background is a big plus.
- Openness to learning golf and golf outing formats — no prior knowledge needed.
- Respond promptly to calls, emails, and in-person visits from prospective clients — quick follow-up and persistence here are critical to winning the business.
- Meet with clients to understand their vision and budget, then plan and execute their event — weddings, private events, corporate functions, and golf outings.
- Present proposals to prospective and current clients.
- Proactively prospect and generate new business through outreach, calls, and networking, including identifying additional sale opportunities with existing Lake Forest clients.
- Serve as the client's main point of contact from inquiry through post-event follow-up.
- Coordinate with the culinary and operations teams for smooth execution, and keep proposals, contracts, and event details accurate.
- Participate in and interact with management team and be an important part of our team, help where needed.
Primarily Monday–Friday, with evenings and weekends as events require. $22–$25/hour base (increasing after a successful 90-day review), plus commission on new business you originate and close — on-target total compensation of approximately $48,000–$60,000+ per year depending on sales performance. Health Care and 401K Plan with yearly contributions per plan participation rules.
