POSITION SUMMARY
The Craftsman I supports field operations by performing general labor tasks on construction sites, including site preparation, material handling, cleanup, and assisting skilled trades. This role also assists carpenters with basic construction and installation. The Craftsman I contributes to safe, efficient job site operations and helps maintain productivity across the project. Work varies by project phase and may shift frequently based on job site needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform demolition, cut materials, and dismantle structures.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, shoring, and temporary supports.
- Load, unload, carry, and stage materials, tools, and equipment.
- Perform routine site tasks requiring manual dexterity and safe tool use.
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Apply caulking or sealants; sand, grind, or polish surfaces as directed.
- Signal equipment operators to ensure safe movement and alignment of machinery.
High school diploma preferred; on the job training provided.
Prior construction or labor experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES- Basic knowledge of building materials, hand tools, and construction processes.
- Ability to operate mechanical tools and assist with equipment.
- Reliability and willingness to learn.
- Ability to communicate clearly, follow instructions, and work cooperatively with crew members.
- Ability to read and understand basic instructions, site markings, and safety requirements.
- Good organization and time management skills; able to shift between tasks as needed.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, balance, crouch, and crawl. Use of hands, arms, and fingers to reach for and handle construction materials. Perform repetitive motions; use finger dexterity for paperwork or equipment controls. Must be able to lift and/or move up to fifty pounds on a regular basis.
WORK ENVIRONMENTWork is performed indoors, outdoors, and in all weather conditions. Exposure to loud noise, dust, debris, and equipment in motion. Requires the use of required personal protective equipment.
