About this Role
This position is for a facility Staff Field Technician who will be under moderate supervision. Performs moderately complex on‑site preventative maintenance and routine repairs on HVAC equipment and control systems.
Key Responsibilities- Work under moderate supervision to perform on‑site field service directly to customers, installing, updating, operating, maintaining, repairing, and removing equipment to meet customer requirements.
- Install, test, service, and repair HVAC and controls system equipment to conform with facility operating specifications and customer requirements.
- Perform preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibrations.
- Inspect equipment on a regular basis to ensure proper functioning and provide moderately complex repair services as needed.
- Analyze test readings, trends, and trouble reports to determine equipment repair needs.
- Monitor security stock level, timely ordering and delivery of inventory to work site.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of verifiable work experience in the Commercial/Industrial HVAC maintenance and repair industry OR a two‑year college/technical school certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning.
- Ability to obtain Local, State, and Federal security clearances that may be required.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and a REAL ‑compliant driver’s license, permit, or .
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. frequently and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to pass federal/state background checks and drug screening.
- Ability to support on‑call rotations, and be onsite within two hours in response to emergency calls at the Ann Arbor, MI client site.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills related to Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, and DDC equipment and systems.
- Basic knowledge and experience with boilers, chillers and cooling towers, Air Handling Units, pumps, and air compressors.
- Basic knowledge and experience with DDC control systems. (Allerton, ALC, Honeywell, JCI, Invensys/Schneider, Niagara, BACnet experience is preferred)
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification; HVAC license preferred.
- Motivated self‑starter requiring minimal supervision.
- Safety conscious with up‑to‑date training focused on the Electrical & HVAC service industries.
- Ability to read service contracts, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
The annual salary for this position is between $53,000.00 - $ annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other CompensationThis position may be entitled to short‑term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
