Installation Technician, Field/Service Technician
The Site Leader is responsible for overseeing daily installation operations related to VAPR system deployment on commercial fleet vehicles. This role ensures adherence to safety, quality, and productivity requirements while coordinating technicians, materials, and workflow across all installation activities.
The Site Leader serves as the primary on-site operational point of contact, responsible for execution, coordination with customer representatives, and overall site performance. This is a hands‑on leadership role, expected to maintain operational understanding of the installation process and support field activities as needed to ensure continuous workflow. This position reports to the Deployment / Program Manager.
Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership- Lead and coordinate daily activities of installation teams.
- Ensure adherence to standardized installation procedures (SOPs).
- Assign technicians based on workload, skill level, and production targets.
- Conduct daily briefings to align on safety, production goals, and priorities.
- Maintain consistent workflow across all installation steps.
- Track daily installation output against plan.
- Monitor cycle times and identify bottlenecks.
- Implement corrective actions to maintain throughput.
- Ensure efficient vehicle flow through staging, installation, and completion.
- Coordinate readiness of tools, materials, and kits to avoid delays.
- Coordinate vehicle availability and staging within the site/yard.
- Ensure proper sequencing of vehicles aligned with installation plan.
- Support vehicle movement coordination as needed to maintain workflow.
- Prevent congestion, idle time, or process interruptions.
- Ensure all installations follow approved procedures and quality standards.
- Support inspection activities and coordinate rework when required.
- Monitor First Pass Yield (FPY) performance and defect trends.
- Escalate recurring quality issues to program and engineering teams.
- Enforce PPE requirements and safe work practices.
- Ensure compliance with Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and safety procedures.
- Maintain clean, organized, and hazard‑free work areas.
- Report and escalate safety risks, incidents, or near misses.
- Serve as the primary on‑site point of contact for the customer.
- Coordinate daily execution with site representatives.
- Provide updates on production status, risks, and constraints.
- Escalate issues related to site access, logistics, or operations.
- Maintain working knowledge of all installation steps.
- Provide hands‑on support during peak demand or operational gaps.
- Support onboarding and on‑the‑job training of technicians.
- Provide daily reporting on production, quality, and safety metrics.
- Track issues, delays, and risks impacting execution.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability (e.g., VIN‑level tracking).
- Coordinate with PAC leadership and cross‑functional teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and workflow.
- Support implementation of updated procedures and best practices.
- Provide feedback to program leadership on operational performance.
- 3+ years of experience in automotive installation, fleet upfit, or similar field operations
- Experience leading field teams of 8–16 technicians
- Ability to read, understand, and enforce SOPs
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable working in high‑volume, fast‑paced environments
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to perform hands‑on technical tasks within the installation process when required.
- Fleet installation or vehicle modification programs
- Experience with structured production environments (takt‑based or high‑volume)
- Experience working with enterprise customers

The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience, education, and qualifications.
Pay Range: $115,000 - $125,000 USD
