Summary of the Role

This role is responsible for maintaining facility systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment, through repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities. The position also manages external maintenance vendors by sourcing contractors, coordinating work, and ensuring compliance with safety and company standards. Additionally, the role supports equipment installations by setting up electrical and utility connections, collaborating with operations and engineering teams, and ensuring all work meets applicable codes and regulations.

Accurate documentation, reporting, and maintenance of facility records and schematics are essential responsibilities. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, strong attention to detail, basic computer skills, effective communication abilities, and the ability to work within a cGMP-regulated environment.

Facility Maintenance & Preventive Care
  • Perform general maintenance and repair of facility systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify equipment issues and ensure preventive maintenance activities are completed.
  • Troubleshoot facility and equipment problems to minimize downtime and maintain operational readiness.
  • Support compliance with safety standards, cGMP requirements, and facility maintenance procedures.
Equipment Installation & Technical Support
  • Install electrical connections, utility lines, and related infrastructure for new equipment and machinery.
  • Coordinate installation activities with Operations and Engineering teams to support production needs.
  • Verify all installations comply with applicable codes, regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Provide technical input during equipment planning, layout, and implementation projects.
  • Source and coordinate qualified external vendors for specialized maintenance and repair services.
  • Schedule, monitor, and inspect contractor work to ensure quality, safety, and compliance standards are met.
  • Maintain vendor relationships, service records, and performance metrics.
  • Track maintenance-related costs and support vendor performance evaluations.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment installations.
  • Prepare reports on equipment condition, maintenance trends, and facility performance.
  • Update facility and equipment schematics following modifications or installation projects.
  • Utilize computerized systems to document work activities and support operational recordkeeping.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least one year of experience in the pharmaceutical cGMP environment is required for consideration.
  • Technical certificate, vocational training, military technical training, or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Maintenance, Mechatronics, HVAC, Facilities Maintenance, or a related technical field preferred.
  • OSHA safety training and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) training preferred.
