  • Inspect, repair and maintain Power Plant electronic pneumatic control systems, boiler and turbine; steam and water header electronic pressure and temperature control systems, boiler and turbine; steam and water flow electronic metering systems and all component and auxillary units of these systems.
  • Inspect, repair and maintain all Power Plant electronic controls, testing equipment and calibration of all sensing devices and distributed control systems.
  • Disassemble units and repair or replace components, pipes/tubes, couplings and electronic control devices such as steam and water flow meters, combustion control meters, fuel and airflow controllers and transmitters, temperature receivers and recorders, damper controls, pressure reducing and water pressure regulator valves and electronic based systems.
  • Assemble and install meters, gagues, controllers and other electronic or pneumatic instruments.
  • Monitor plant operations and react to instrument and control malfunctions.
  • Participate in the inspection of equipment function and manipluation of controls.
  • Observe equipment function from control room and perform periodic rounds of inspection.
  • Inspect and adjust automatic or manual equipment control mechanisms.
  • Participate in the cleaning, inspection and routine maintenance of electronic equipment and facilities including oiling, greasing and the repacking of leaking packing glands.
  • Report unusual or emergency situations to the appropriate engineer and supervisor and aid in its correction.
  • Observe fire and safety precautions.
  • Install and replace tubing, valves,wiring and component parts in pneumatic equipment and electronic control systems.
  • Coordinate the disassembly and repair of reducing valves and desuperheating controls and devices.
  • Maintain records on malfunctions, repairs and maintenance.
  • Maintain an inventory of parts.
  • Graduation from high school or GED.
  • Two (2) year Associates degree or four (4) year BS degree from an accredited electronic trade school or other combined electronic instrument repair education and work experience (i.e. Military Training, Electronic Service Technician including two (2) years of documented I & C work experience from previous job or employers), electronics, or an equivalent level of education and experience.
  • At least 8,000 hours of documented experience (4 years) in maritime or powerhouse control systems or satisfactory and reliable performance as an Instrument and Control Repair person.
  • Reasonable experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of electronic instruments and controls, including the operation and maintenance of computerized systems.
  • Considerable knowledge of methods, requirements of high pressure boilers, turbines and related equipment.
  • Considerable knowledge of pressure, temperature and metering systems.
  • Ability to maintain operation records and charts.
  • Considerable knowledge of safety standards and procedures.
  • Ability to exercise tact and discretion in relationships with subordinates and staff.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as work independently.
  • Act in accordance with the Facilities and Operations' guiding principles: respect, collaboration, proactive, solutions-based and responsibility to the environment.
  • Must be able to perform the full range of duties, with or without a reasonable accommodation, in the classification in an environment that has high levels of heat and noise.
  • Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products, including using email and the internet.
  • ISA Certified Control System Technician - Level 1.

This is a full time position, 6:30am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday.
