Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician

Responsible for maintaining and repairing refrigeration and HVAC equipment in a Walmart retail store, utilizing commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, power tools, and digital equipment. Works independently and as part of a team, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

• Maintain and repair refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive, prioritize, and document repair work orders.
• Inspect, operate, and test equipment and fixtures to diagnose issues and determine solutions.
• Complete all required training for safe operation of equipment and tools.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following Walmart’s safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, climb or descend ladders, and work safely at heights.

• 2 years of experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and passing MVR report.
• Minimum 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience (preferred).

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.

Hourly wage range: $23.00 - $45.00 per hour, subject to local minimum wage requirements. Additional premiums may apply based on schedule, facility, season, or job duties.
