About the OpportunityAnthro Med Education is looking for a dedicated School Social Worker to join our team in South Redford, MI. This is a full-time position supporting one elementary school throughout the school year. You will join a supportive district that already includes nine of our Anthro Med team members, ensuring you have a strong peer network from day one.
You will work alongside another social worker in the building supporting students across ASD and self-contained classrooms. The ideal candidate will feel comfortable supporting students who require higher levels of support. In this role you will also run Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) groups to support broader building needs.
Caseload and Environment- Targeted Caseload:
Approximately 35 students with IEPs. - Focus: ASD and self-contained classrooms as well as SEL groups.
- Support Structure:
Another social worker is also in the building with you to collaborate with and work alongside. - Dedicated Space:
You will have a dedicated office space to conduct sessions and meetings.
- Provide direct and indirect social work services to students in need of emotional, behavioral, and social support.
- Conduct IEP Evaluations and contribute to the development of meaningful student goals.
- Facilitate small group and individual counseling sessions.
- Lead and support the implementation of BIPS and FBAs.
- Participate in IEP and 504 Plan meetings to advocate for student needs.
- Support students and families in accessing community resources.
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- Michigan School Social Work Certification.
- Experience working with school-aged children for one year.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Salary: $60,000-$78,000/year based on experience (paid weekly)
