Job Description
Full-time position available for Newborn Adoption Case Manager and Project Rachel Ministry Coordinator. This unique role combines direct adoption services with leadership in post-abortion healing ministry, advancing the Church's commitment to uphold the dignity of life at all stages. This position is responsible for the coordination and delivery of all services related to newborn adoption placements, while also leading and growing Project Rachel Ministry, a confidential, compassionate outreach offering healing and reconciliation to individuals impacted by abortion.
Qualifications- Strong interpersonal and pastoral care skills, with the ability to accompany individuals and families in emotionally complex and sensitive situations
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage all aspects of newborn adoption services, including assessments, placement preparation, and post-placement support
- Knowledge of or ability to quickly develop expertise in Michigan adoption law and effective collaboration with Probate Court Juvenile Division
- Ability to provide education, guidance, and support to adoptive families within an open adoption philosophy
- Exceptional organizational and case management skills, including the ability to manage multiple cases and maintain accurate documentation
- Flexibility and responsiveness to meet 24/7 service needs through shared on-call responsibilities
- Compassionate, nonjudgmental approach to serving individuals experiencing unplanned pregnancies and those seeking post-abortion healing
- Ability to lead and coordinate a ministry-based program such as Project Rachel, including outreach, relationship-building, and confidential case coordination
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with clergy, counselors, clients, and community partners
- Experience or aptitude for developing and promoting community outreach initiatives and educational efforts
- Cultural awareness, sensitivity, and maturity in working with diverse populations, including adoptive families and individuals in crisis
- A clear commitment to promoting pro-life solutions grounded in Catholic Social Teaching, and the ability to integrate faith-based mission with professional practice
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work
Total compensation includes benefits, retirement plans with employer contribution, monthly phone stipend, paid time off and a generous paid holiday schedule which includes the week between Christmas and the New Year. This position qualifies for a $1,250 Welcome Bonus (some restrictions apply).
