Software Engineer, Backend; Teams

Overview

Door Dash is building the world's most reliable on-demand logistics engine for delivery. We are growing rapidly and expanding our Engineering offices globally. We are looking for Backend Engineers to build and maintain a large-scale 24x7 global infrastructure that powers Door Dash's 3-sided marketplace of Consumers, Merchants and Dashers. We’ll work on Product and Product Platform teams; product-focused engineers operate backend services and architecture and collaborate cross-functionally to maximize business impact.

This role is hybrid with some in-office time and reports to an Engineering Manager.

• Develop, release, and run large-scale web applications
• Develop and define the backend architecture and tech stack for a product area
• Improve performance, reliability, scalability and security for our backend systems
• Be involved in transitioning our monolithic codebase to a microservice-based architecture
• Completely disrupt logistics by tackling bleeding-edge technical problems

• B.S., M.S., or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
• 2+ years industry experience working with backend tech stacks
• Ability to analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources
• Experience with service oriented architecture, writing REST APIs, unit testing, and architectural design
• Understanding of modern web stacks and architecture (HTTP, REST)
• Experience with SQL and No

The starting pay ranges in the United States are localized by location and market conditions. Base salary is localized to the employee’s work location. Equity grants may be offered.
