Software Engineering Team Lead

We’re seeking to connect an Engineering Team Lead with a leading company in the insurance industry on a full time basis. The role is remote and located in Livonia, MI, with occasional quarterly travel. As an Engineering Team Lead, you will have the opportunity to join a passionate, motivated team and leverage your expertise in modern software engineering, solution design, and technical mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead solution design and hands-on development across backend, frontend, and integration work streams.
• Mentor and coach engineers through code reviews and architectural guidance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to translate business needs into scalable, secure technical solutions.
• Drive modernization initiatives and implement future-state architectural patterns.
• Establish and reinforce CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and secure coding practices.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks to ensure high-quality delivery.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in software engineering.
• At least 2 years in a technical lead or senior engineer role.
• Proficiency in Java, .NET, Spring Boot, React/Angular, REST APIs, and cloud-native development.
• Experience working within Agile frameworks and modern Dev Ops tool chains.
• Proven ability to mentor peers and influence technical direction.
