This role’s mission is to advance our ability to improve supply chain stability through a single and efficient regional mindset. It contributes to maintaining strong delivery characteristics with a regional viewpoint and supports smooth production operations across North American manufacturing facilities, ensuring customer satisfaction. Under limited supervision, the engineer leads NA crisis mitigation and counter‑measure development for OEM suppliers, manages supplier performance, and handles complex supplier situations.

Collaborate with suppliers and other Honda business units to achieve supplier stability. Minimize supplier touchpoints by optimizing activity. Clearly summarize each supplier situation—issue, impact, root cause, and corrective measure—to ensure effective communication.
Key Accountabilities- Initiate and support appraisal and analysis of a supplier crisis on a specific part or assembly process (tooling, equipment spec, part drawing spec, evaluation/OEE, volume assessment, SAP development, etc.).
- Coordinate and support implementation of immediate corrective action plans (short‑term and long‑term) at critical suppliers.
- Support communication, interaction, and summary reviews with supplier and HDMA management.
- Support critical proactive projects such as capacity management, minimum process requirements, A‑Rank NARS reporting, shutdowns, etc.
- Complete reporting and Gemba activity for root‑cause analysis and counter‑measure implementation to solve complex problems with attention to closure speed and effectiveness.
- Engage in continuous improvement through Plan‑Do‑Check‑Act (PDCA) for the area of responsibility (capacity and/or special projects) to ensure associate success.
- Minimum educational qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent related experience. - Average experience: 2–8 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Manufacturing process knowledge (stamping, welding, assembly, material flow, electronics, injection molding, paint, casting, machining, etc.).
- Honda systems knowledge (NARS, CMS, GPCS).
- Strong sense of urgency and flexibility to respond to critical issues and unplanned risk events.
- Ability to travel on short notice to confirm supplier situations on site (50% of time).
- Work in open office environment, supplier operations, or virtually while maintaining expectations.
- Hybrid office work (80% in‑house / 20% remote).
- Availability for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift to support onsite supplier crises.
- Ability to work up to 5–15 hours of overtime per week as needed.
