Holt CAT in Anna, Texas is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment‑Shop Service Technician who will provide high‑quality repair service on heavy equipment in a shop environment, responding to customer needs in a positive, caring, and timely manner.

Mid‑level position – generally has more than seven years of experience and/or demonstrated job‑relevant knowledge/skills. A Level IV Technician has a broad knowledge of the field’s standard and technical concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of standard, complex, and technical tasks; self‑starting and requires minimal supervision; often a team member on a large project.
EssentialFunctions
- Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment malfunctions and failures
- Disassembles and assembles machine components to manufacturer’s specifications through the use of hand tools, pneumatic tools, and any specialized tooling
- Rebuilds, repairs, reconditions, and maintains equipment and components
- Demonstrates good customer relations and support; communicates customer needs to shop management
- Plans and controls cost of repair jobs
- Completes parts orders and identifies parts for return
- Provides a significant amount of task‑ and behavior‑oriented mentoring and training to others
- Maintains all equipment and work areas – keeps in good, clean, and orderly condition
- Completes all documents associated with repairs in a timely manner
- Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Works overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; e.g., Pro Tech Technician Training Paths
- Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Troubleshoot and perform complex repairs correctly in the shop such as pumps, hydraulic, engine, transmissions, HVAC, and electrical issues and repairs
- At least 3 years of field or shop service tech troubleshooting and repair skills of heavy equipment such as dozers, backhoes, front‑end loaders, excavators, etc.
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment using electronic and manual equipment to determine failure
- Ability to troubleshoot Tier 4 Final Emissions Systems
- Ability to troubleshoot Exhaust Gas Recirculation Systems
- Demonstrates proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems – CAT ET / CAT SIS 2.0
- Quality control analysis skills – conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance and communicate findings
- Operation and control skills – controlling operations of equipment or systems
- Equipment selection skills – determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
- Ability to operate a conventional forklift and an overhead crane
- The ability to quickly and repeatedly operate the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair
- The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
