Clinical Support Specialist Job Description

The Clinical Support Specialist will oversee students in their clinical rotations in the hospital setting per the guidelines in place by the college in the adjunct faculty handbook, job description, and course description as well as the guidelines of the organization they are assigned to.

• Oversee students in their clinical rotations
• Provide support to student during clinical hours

• Flexibility and ability to prioritize and work independently
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Excellent oral/written communication skills
• Critical thinking and clinical judgement skills
• Ability to use instructional technology
• Ability to teach a diverse student population

• Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution
• Holds a current license or multistate licensure privilege to practice nursing in VA as a registered nurse.
• At least two years direct client care experience as a registered nurse

• Experience teaching in higher education
• Experience teaching in classroom, hybrid, and online formats.
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive working and learning environment.
• Experience teaching students from diverse language backgrounds and varying levels of proficiency.
