Civil Engineer​/Project Mgr- Site Design

Urban is currently seeking Civil Engineers with 5+ years of experience in the design of land development engineering projects. Successful candidates would be based in our Annandale or Chantilly office.

Urban Ltd. provides full-service civil engineering, transportation engineering, land planning, landscape architecture and surveying services to private and public sector clients throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.

• Must have a B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• EIT certification is preferred, but not required.
• Experience in designing, preparing and processing land development applications required.
• Experience in designing, preparing and processing land development applications in Northern Virginia jurisdictions is preferred, but not required.
• Candidates must have the ability to make well-informed design decisions based on their knowledge of civil engineering concepts and locality requirements.
• Contributes to the preparation of full sets of construction plans.
• Ensure the quality of all work completed.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is required.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must.

• Creation of CAD drawings and details for site and subdivision plans.
• Site Layout and utility design.
• Horizontal and vertical design of roadways.
• Preparation of erosion and sediment control plans.
• Generating hydrologic computations for SWM facilities.
• Performing pavement design computations.
• Performing site distance analysis.
  
  Preparing site work quantity take-offs.
• Coordination with internal and external engineers, architects, etc.
