Technology Specialist Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, organization, and training to staff and students in the area of technology.
  • Support the development of students' digital literacy and technology skills and assist staff in integrating technology into classroom instruction.
  • Assist with technology equipment management, instructional technology initiatives, and staff development.
  • Provide age-appropriate technology instruction and evaluate student learning outcomes.
  • Teach digital citizenship, including online safety, cyberbullying prevention, and digital ethics.
  • Assist in student crisis counseling as needed.
  • Organize technology lab furniture and equipment to create a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Assess staff technology needs and establish training priorities; provide ongoing technology training and support to staff.
  • Serve as a resource for teachers in the use of instructional technology and recommend tools that support student learning.
  • Model effective technology integration in classroom instruction.
  • Develop and monitor assigned technology budgets.
  • Select instructional technology programs, materials, and strategies for student use.
  • Maintain communication with staff and external partners as needed.
  • Ensure technology equipment is properly maintained, organized, and stored.
  • Support school-wide technology initiatives and projects; participate in technology committees and task forces.
  • Assist with the purchase and maintenance of computer systems.
  • Support technology setup and operation for school events and activities.
  • Attend staff meetings, professional development activities, and school events as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Collegiate Professional Certificate or higher in a relevant content area preferred.
  • Experience teaching technology and/or supporting technology integration in an educational environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of instructional technology tools and digital learning platforms.
  • Strong presentation, training, and communication skills.
  • Ability to support students with varying academic, behavioral, and learning needs.
  • Experience providing staff training and coaching preferred.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and technology troubleshooting skills.
