- CFS is partnering with a growing multi entity company in Anne Arundel County to hire a Senior Staff Accountant. Due to an internal promotion, the organization is adding this key role to support their real estate division.
- This opportunity is ideal for a Senior Staff Accountant/Property Accountant who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and enjoys managing the financial operations of a real estate portfolio. The selected individual will play a key role in property-level accounting, including monthly financial reporting, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, cash management, tenant-related transactions, and general ledger maintenance.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including bank reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, and financial statement preparation
- Support annual audit preparation and documentation
- Reconcile corporate credit card statements, ensuring proper documentation, receipt verification, and accurate expense coding
- Oversee full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice approval, coding, processing, and weekly check runs across multiple entities and cash accounts
- Maintain vendor compliance records, including W-9s, certificates of insurance, and 1099 data for annual reporting
- Distribute annual K-1 tax documents to investors
- Process investor distributions and maintain related reconciliation schedules in Excel
- Execute capital calls, payments, and rent deposits across multiple entities, ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation
- Prepare and submit monthly loan requisitions and record mortgage payments for development entities
- Generate intercompany asset management billings and other transaction-based fees, including acquisition, refinancing, disposition, and accounting fees
- Manage the organization's insurance portfolio, including policy renewals, coverage reviews, and compliance requirements
- Participate in cross-training initiatives to support departmental flexibility and coverage
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field required
- 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or public accounting
- Experience with multi entity real estate a plus
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Sage Timberline and/or App Folio strongly preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
Schedule: 100% in office in Annapolis, MD. Hours are flexible (7:30am-4pm or 8am-4:30pm) Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week.
