The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the Division Commander of the Field Operations Bureau of the Maryland Capitol Police, as well as to all members of that Bureau. The individual supports the agency’s mission by facilitating and documenting departmental activities and ensuring effective communication.
Responsibilities- Assist in processing and maintaining all records related to the Annapolis Division, including payroll, personnel files, performance evaluations, training records, and certification records.
- Act as liaison responding promptly and accurately to special requests made by the Chief of Police, members of the Maryland Capitol Police headquarters division, Department of General Services, and the public.
- Transcribe taped police interviews in cases of incidents, complaints, or allegations made against the department and staff.
Education:
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience:
Four years performing secretarial or clerical work involving typing duties.
Notes:
- Experience establishing, revising, and implementing office procedures.
- Experience managing telephone calls, welcoming visitors, and coordinating appointments and interviews.
- Experience maintaining the confidentiality of records and reports.
Demonstrate the ability to accurately type on a keyboard on a personal computer at a minimum of forty words per minute.
