Construction Inspector II-III
We are seeking a Construction Inspector to join our Anne Arundel County pavement team. This role involves inspecting roadways, bridges, tunnels, and related facilities to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and project requirements.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites, verifying adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Document and report any deviations, defects, or issues discovered during inspections.
- Collaborate with senior inspectors and project managers to confirm that construction activities meet safety regulations and project requirements.
- Assist with the review and interpretation of construction plans, special provisions, and technical documents.
- Maintain clear and accurate inspection records and reports for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Learn and apply industry‑specific software and tools for inspection and documentation.
- Participate in team meetings and safety briefings to foster a safe, collaborative work environment.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, project stakeholders, and other team members to address construction‑related concerns and provide guidance.
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- 3–10 years of relevant experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent certification.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Holding or eligibility for MD SHA Temporary Traffic Control Manager, Maryland Department of Environment Responsible Personnel, OSHA 10 Construction Safety Training, and Mid‑Atlantic Region Technician Certification Program (MARTCP) Soils & Aggregate, Asphalt Field Testing Technician Grade I, Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I, and Pavement Marking.
- Proficiency with eConstruction applications such as Fulcrum.
- Proficiency in math and English.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, and reaching.
- Ability to walk over rough and uneven terrain, stand for up to 12 hours on occasion, and work in various weather conditions and terrains.
- Successful background check and pre‑employment drug testing.
