Operations Manager
Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.
We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee day-to-day site operations and ensure construction activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements, applicable regulations, and quality standards. You will provide strong on-site leadership, coordinate subcontractors and crews, and ensure all work is executed according to approved plans, schedules, and safety procedures.
The duration of the project is until Jan 17, 2027, with potential for extension
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular site inspections and maintain detailed logs of activities, conditions, hazards identified, and corrective actions taken.
- Ensure safety documentation is properly recorded and included in daily production or progress reports.
- Lead investigations of incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and ensure proper reporting is completed promptly.
- Monitor and track site safety performance, including work-related injuries and illnesses.
- Support implementation and enforcement of site safety and health programs.
- Participate in project meetings, including pre-construction, coordination, and progress meetings.
- Review and help implement job hazard analyses and safety plans to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Maintain systems to track and resolve safety or quality deficiencies on site.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with all safety, quality, and project requirements.
- Maintain records of hazardous materials and high-risk activities on site.
- Provide safety orientation and site induction for workers, subcontractors, and visitors.
- Coordinate daily construction activities to ensure adherence to schedule, quality, and safety standards.
- Perform other duties as required to support successful project delivery
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- 10 years of progressively responsible construction experience, including supervisory or superintendent roles.
- Experience managing construction sites and coordinating multiple subcontractors.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and site management principles.
- Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30 or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience with quality management systems is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic construction management tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced field environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Must be eligible to work in the project location (as applicable).
