JOB SUMMARYCarroll Community College seeks experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) educators to join the classroom and clinical faculty of our high-quality caring‑centered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) education program. Classroom instruction is currently Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:00–9:15 pm, with clinical instruction during evening shifts and weekends. Daytime class/clinical instructors will be needed in the near future.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Candidate will be responsible for participating in development and evaluation of the training program; implementing the approved training program
- Supervising classroom laboratory experiences
- Evaluating student performance in the class
- Providing supervision and clinical evaluation of each trainee at the clinical training site.
RN and long‑term care experience within the last 5 years is required. Two years of teaching experience or current nurse educator (train‑the‑trainer) certification preferred. Prior CNA educator experience strongly preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSThis position involves a light to medium level of physical effort which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
- Hear/talk/communicate – Must be able to exchange information and communicate
- Visual Acuity/ability to perceive or detect surroundings
- Mental acuity – Able to focus, concentrate, understand and convey subject matter
- Repetitive motion (i.e. keyboarding)
- Stand/sit/walk/able to move or traverse from one area to another
College campus, direct contact with students, staff, faculty and the general public in classrooms, common and shared areas, offices, and campus environments. Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office, meeting, and training rooms. Use of safe workplace practices with office equipment; computers for data entry and word processing with some highly technical applications and new technology systems;
avoidance of trips and falls; observance of fire and building safety regulations; observance of college vehicle policies when/if driving a college vehicle and observance of College policies.
This position is placed on the non‑credit adjunct faculty pay scale.
