Job Description
The Department of Computer Science of Bowie State University invites applications for a full-time, Lecturer position, starting Fall 2026. We are seeking a dynamic and innovative individual with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and service. The successful candidate will join a vibrant and growing department and is expected to contribute to the undergraduate program.
Responsibilities- Teaching:
Assist in the education mission of the department, teach undergraduate level courses in computer science, and advise and mentor students. - Service:
Provide academic service as requested by the Chair of the Department.
- Terminal degree in Computer Science or a closely related field by the time of appointment, or a Master’s degree with an exceptionally strong teaching record.
- Commitment to quality teaching at the undergraduate level.
- Anticipated completion of a doctoral degree no later than June 2026 is acceptable.
- Evidence of effective teaching and mentoring.
- Expertise in teaching introductory and low-level courses, including Computer Science I, Computer Science II, Computer Organization & Architecture, and Discrete Structures.
