Job Title and Summary
Summer Programs Site Facilitator (Temporary)
Responsible for overseeing staff and program effectiveness at a summer site. Requires full attendance for the entire program, including in‑service days, work days, and instructional days.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Supervise teachers, instructional assistants, and additional staff supporting student instruction.
- Provide staff in‑service to create a positive, safe, and orderly school climate.
- Determine program logistics: location, arrival procedure, dismissal, breakfast, lunch, class lists and schedules.
- Monitor effectiveness through lesson plans, parent feedback, and professional development needs.
- Develop collaborative relationships with host site staff, students, and parents.
- Communicate effectively with parents about student participation and academic progress.
- Provide relevant student information to instructional staff concerning health, medical, legal concerns, and IEP/504.
- Maintain documentation, inventory, and materials as required by the program.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field of education from a regionally accredited college or university.
- One year of experience as Summer Program Staff, Site Director for Extended Day, Extended Week, or Title I Summer Extended Learning Programs.
- Understanding of county initiatives in reading and math.
- Demonstrated leadership, excellent writing, organization, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficient with business technology applications (e.g., video/web conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite).
- Active Maryland Educator Certification:
Standard Professional Certificate I (SPC I) required;
Administrator I Certificate preferred.
Employee must retain active licenses, certifications, and enrollment as a condition of employment.
Leadership Role and Physical DemandsRole includes training and directing employees, maintaining records, providing feedback, and performing lead worker duties. Physical demands include standing, walking, climbing, talking, hearing, and eye/hand/foot coordination.
