Job Summary

Under the supervision of the principal(s) and in collaboration with the Offices of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, Academics, and Community Schools, manages a caseload of students to support them in areas related to attendance, academic, behavioral, and social-emotional learning interventions. Facilitates meetings with individuals and teams of school-based interventionists to identify individual student progress. Communicates with families regarding attendance, academic, and other specific areas in need of progress monitoring.

Supports the implementation, progress monitoring, and ongoing data analysis for all MTSS data sources, including Unified Insights.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with the school administration, Student Services Team, Attendance Team, and other district and school-based teams to identify and progress monitor students in need of attendance, academic, behavioral, and/or social-emotional learning supports and interventions.
  • Coordinates, implements and provides Tier I and Tier II attendance support to students, staff, and the community.
  • Regularly communicates with a caseload of students and their families about attendance and absenteeism concerns as well as other barriers to student success.
  • Analyzes data to determine the effectiveness of attendance, academic, behavioral, and social-emotional learning interventions. Works with teams to modify interventions to support student success.
  • Provides small group mentoring, including daily check-ins with students. Coordinators other small group mentoring with other adults as needed.
  • Maintains and organizes student progress reports, data sheets, and/or other appropriate documentation.
  • Maintains files and materials in an orderly manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Education
  • Associate's Degree in related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Experience
  • Three (3) years experience working with school-age children in an educational or social services setting required.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
  • Knowledge of barriers to academic success, including an understanding of the role of attendance in student outcomes.
  • General understanding of appropriate interventions to support students in attendance, academics, behavioral, and social/emotional learning.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development, including how to motivate students.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and engage diverse parents/ guardians.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with teams.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently to complete tasks.
  • Ability to create and utilize spreadsheets and/or databases to monitor progress and create reports. Ability to merge information from different sources and formats and create the desired results for analysis.
  • Ability to form positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate with diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and/or preferred) and web development software.
