Job SummaryWe are seeking a bilingual (Spanish-English), dedicated, energetic, and nurturing After School Preschool Teacher to lead our Spanish Immersion Aftercare Program. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for preschool-aged children at the end of their regular school day. Instead of focusing on formal academic instruction, this position centers on supporting children through afternoon transitions, providing healthy snacks, leading creative recreational activities, and supervising indoor and outdoor play.
You will ensure a high-quality, positive experience for our students and maintain excellent communication with families in either Spanish or English during daily pickups.
- Create a high-quality, engaging classroom environment that fosters school readiness and a love for learning.
- Communicate exclusively in Spanish when interacting with children.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy classroom environment that complies with all state regulations.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with parents and guardians through regular, professional communication, navigating easily between Spanish and English depending on the family's language preference.
- Assess and document children's progress and developmental milestones.
- Collaborate with center staff and leadership to maintain a positive, inclusive school culture.
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Age & Core Education- Must be at least 19 years old
. - Possess a High school diploma
, a certificate of high school equivalency,
OR successful completion of college courses for credit.
- Early Childhood Development: 6 semester hours, 90 clock hours, or the equivalent of approved early childhood coursework.
- 1 year of experience working with preschoolers in an approved setting,
OR - 1 year of college (30 semester hours),
OR - A combination of experience and college coursework equal to 1 year.
- At least 9 clock hours of approved training in communicating with staff, parents, and the public.
- At least 3 clock hours in ADA Compliance
. - 12 clock hours of approved continued training/professional development.
