Salary Range: $74,414.00 To $ Annually
Overall Position
Purpose:
This highly skilled and professional-level position maintains the integrity, usability, and reliability of the library’s metadata and authority control databases. Performs original and copy-cataloging. Supervises paraprofessional staff. Oversees receipt, cataloging, processing, and distribution of library materials. Participates in tasks and projects with related departments such as Collection Strategies and Circulation Services, including providing data and reports.
Minimum Qualifications
:
Possession of a master’s degree in library science from an American Library Association accredited program; one year’s work experience in library service and two years of supervisory experience. One year’s experience in metadata development (cataloging) or metadata coursework is preferred.
Necessary Special Requirement:
- Ability to secure certification as a Professional Public Librarian in the State of Maryland within 120 days following appointment; ability to meet re-certification requirements by completing 90 hours of training every 5 years.
- Reading and writing fluency in Spanish is highly preferred.
