Technician:
Intervention Support and Monitoring
Under the supervision of the principal(s) and in collaboration with the Offices of Multi‑Tiered Systems of Support, Academics, and Community Schools, manages a caseload of students to support them in areas related to attendance, academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional learning interventions. Facilitates meetings with individuals and teams of school‑based interventionists to identify individual student progress. Communicates with families regarding attendance and academic progress monitoring.
Supports the implementation, progress monitoring, and ongoing data analysis for all MTSS data sources, including Unified Insights.
- Collaborate with the school administration, Student Services Team, Attendance Team, and other district and school‑based teams to identify and progress‑monitor students in need of attendance, academic, behavioral, and/or social‑emotional learning supports and interventions.
- Coordinate, implement and provide Tier I and Tier II attendance support to students, staff, and the community.
- Regularly communicate with a caseload of students and their families about attendance and absenteeism concerns as well as other barriers to student success.
- Analyze data to determine the effectiveness of attendance, academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional learning interventions. Work with teams to modify interventions to support student success.
- Provide small group mentoring, including daily check‑ins with students. Coordinate other small group mentoring with other adults as needed.
- Maintain and organize student progress reports, data sheets, and other appropriate documentation.
- Maintain files and materials in an orderly manner.
- Perform other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.
- Associate’s Degree in a related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three (3) years of experience working with school‑age children in an educational or social services setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of barriers to academic success, including the role of attendance in student outcomes.
- General understanding of appropriate interventions to support students in attendance, academics, behavioral, and social/emotional learning.
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development, including how to motivate students.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and engage diverse parents/guardians.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work with teams.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication, organizational, and planning skills.
- Ability to work independently to complete tasks.
- Ability to create and utilize spreadsheets and/or databases to monitor progress and create reports. Ability to merge information from different sources and formats and create the desired results for analysis.
- Ability to form positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate with diverse populations.
- Proficiency with business technology applications (Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and/or preferred) and web development software.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
