Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for each specific program/system (FTI, MS, ADS-B, DCNS, WMSS and others) L3

    Harris supports for the FAA
  • Install, repair, configure, test and complete preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment at the customers’ remote locations
  • Work remotely in a scheduled and on-call capacity to various customer locations within your assigned area
  • Occasionally travel to remote sites outside your assigned area as needed to assist with FAA customer needs and/or requests
  • Read/understand/follow equipment drawings and task orders
  • Maintain good administrative skills by taking notes and documenting what transpired while working at the customer location
  • Work directly with the NOCC, the SAC, and the Helpdesk over the phone to resolve field issues
  • Maintain tools, test equipment, parts/electronics, truck stock inventory and personal or company vehicle
  • Be proactive and prepared for assigned tasks prior to dispatching
  • Work outside regularly scheduled hours (on-call) when/if needed to meet customers’ needs
  • Lift items up to 32 lbs. and use ladders and step stools to reach heights of approximately 10 ft
  • Work with your supervisor (ASL) to ensure all L3

    Harris policies/procedures and program‑specific policies/procedures are followed
  • Obtain an FAA Public Trust Security Clearance
Requirements
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post‑secondary/associate’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and/or local U.S. State REAL
  • Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, A+
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a high‑stress and visibility environment
  • Good knowledge of cable connectors and replacements (RJ‑11, RJ‑45, DB‑25, V.35, RS‑449)
  • Excellent knowledge of fiber; working knowledge of multiplexers, network topology, frame relay, fractional T‑1, SONET, ATM, private line, voice and data applications
  • Working knowledge of power testing, AC and DC including 3‑phase AC
  • Familiarity with configuration and operation of 24 VDC & 48 VDC power supplies
  • Experience with network and circuit testing (T1 specifications, DS3 testing, digital testing BERT, analog VG testing) within Bell Core Standards
  • Working knowledge of various network test equipment (JDSU HST, Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, digital oscilloscope, Halcyon 704A, Para‑scope or other T1/DS3 test sets)
  • IP‑based knowledge with experience configuring routers and switches
  • Experience installing equipment racks (wall mount, raised floors, concrete, etc.)
