The Junior Engineer / Engineering Designer supports Project Managers, Senior Engineers, and Staff Civil Engineers in the research, design, and production of land development projects. This roleis responsible forpreparingaccurateconstruction documents that clearly convey design intent and contribute to the development of innovative, constructible, and efficient solutions.
Essential Responsibilities- Conduct research on codes, site conditions, and jurisdictional requirements.
- Assistin civil engineering design tasks including site layout, grading, and utility planning.
- Assistwithstormdrainand stormwater management design tasks, including analysis, layout, and preparation of related construction documents.
- Prepare construction documents such as plans, profiles, details, and specifications.
- Perform design calculations and develop construction details under supervision.
- Participate in pre-design and construction site visits to gain practical experience.
- Maintain project files and drawingsin accordance with company standards.
- Perform quantity take-offs andassistwith preliminary cost estimates.
- Providetimelyandaccuratesupport to ensure high-quality client service.
- Foundational understanding of civil engineering principles, including hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater management.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal land development codes andpermittingprocesses.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineeringor relevant civil engineering design experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with AutoCAD;
Civil 3D experience preferred.
