Description:

The Systems Engineer supports the analysis, design, development, integration, and sustainment of complex mission systems. This role translates user needs, operational concepts (CONOPS), and high‑level architectures into clear, verifiable system requirements and technical solutions. The engineer contributes across the full system lifecycle-architecture, requirements, integration, testing, and documentation-while supporting Linux and Windows environments and FORNSAT/collection systems. Close collaboration with government stakeholders, program teams, and senior leadership ensures technical integrity and successful mission delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

* Analyze user requirements, CONOPS, and high‑level system architectures to develop, refine, and maintain system requirements specifications.
* Design and develop system architectures and technical solutions aligned with DoDAF, Service‑Oriented Architecture (SOA), and mission constraints.
* Administer, troubleshoot, and maintain Linux and Windows systems, including software installation and FORNSAT system network and software configuration.
* Support, monitor, and sustain FORNSAT and collection systems to ensure reliable, accurate data flow and operational availability.
* Develop and maintain systems engineering documentation, including Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs), Initial Capabilities Documents (ICDs), Requirements Specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and system design artifacts.
* Perform requirements decomposition, functional analysis, and allocation of requirements to hardware, software, facilities, and personnel.
* Generate and evaluate alternative system concepts, architectures, and design solutions; advise users on requirements and solution tradeoffs.
* Support system integration, test planning, verification, and validation activities to ensure systems meet defined performance and mission requirements.
* Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews to support development and operational decision‑making.
* Coordinate and track action items from Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), design reviews, and program reviews.
* Support interface definition, configuration management, and change control across multiple teams and stakeholders.
* Allocate and analyze system and subsystem performance parameters, including real‑time processing constraints and error budgets.
* Develop derived and lower‑level requirements that are complete, correct, unambiguous, realizable, and verifiable.
* Contribute to information assurance and cybersecurity requirements, including confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, access control, non‑repudiation, and cryptographic mechanisms.
* Collaborate across engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues and maintain the technical integrity of all deliverables.
* Communicate technical considerations, risks, and issues clearly to government representatives, program personnel, and senior leadership.

Qualifications:

* Minimum of seven (7) years of Systems Engineering experience on programs of similar scope, complexity, and technical requirements.
* Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
* In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an additional five (5) years of relevant Systems Engineering experience may be substituted. Requirements:
