Overview
Athenix Solutions Group is looking for a Hardware Engineer for a variety of roles to support the design and development of complex computing systems in the defense of our nation. This position seeks individuals with expertise in end‑to‑end system hardware architecture, system functionality, power, space, and cooling requirements.
Responsibilities- Perform end‑to‑end system hardware architectural design for specific functions based on customer requirements.
- Integrate various system components, servers, network switches, GPS and timing devices, digitizers, network storage devices, etc.
- Conduct network systems engineering, collaborate with vendors, and identify new requirements to achieve mission needs.
- Design higher‑level networks with Cisco, and create Power Space and Cooling (PSC), Build of Material (BOM), Baseline Exception Requirements (BER) and other documents required to procure equipment.
- Create and design complex network core cabling integration and infrastructure cabling between racks.
- Provide new configurations and changes to drafter, ensuring all cabling drawing packages are 100% accurate.
- Integrate equipment from vendors such as Cisco, HP, Dell, IBM, and others.
- Perform quality assurance on all systems procurement to ensure compliance with build standards.
- Perform in‑house Drawing Configuration Management; 2D drawing tasks using ACAD or Visio, and 3D tasks as required.
- Create and maintain Level II drawings and facility layouts.
- Confirm drawing package accuracy.
- Research new technologies and obtain technical specifications.
- Track status to organize documentation deliveries.
- Provide drawing packages to appropriate repositories.
- Create custom fabrication component drawings for vendor bid submittals.
- Develop automation processes for tracking components associated with floor plans, rack elevations, and cable databases.
- Validate and receive technical specifications to/from vendors.
- Receive and review quotes from vendors and resellers.
- Create rack elevations and build documents for vendors.
- Update build cable run lists and upload for team usage.
- Create and provide cable BOMs for manufacturers and vendors, review quotes for accuracy.
- Active Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
- Education:
Open to various career stages. - Entry‑Level – Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related field, or 4 years of relevant experience if no degree.
- Basic‑Level – Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience.
- Mid‑Level – Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience.
- Senior‑Level – Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of relevant experience.
Note:
A Master’s degree in an engineering or related field can be used to substitute for 4 years of experience.
