Position: Construction Manager - Large Projects

Construction Manager – Capital Execution

Built on seconded expertise in Civil/Structural, Instrumentation & Controls, Electrical or Piping/Mechanical, the Construction Manager leads large, complex capital projects across Chemours sites worldwide with responsibility for safety, cost, productivity, schedule, and quality. The role works closely with project teams, travels to multiple locations, and drives execution of world‑class capital projects.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and technical input during Front End Loading and Detailed Design, including Safety Plan Development, MI‑QA plan qualification, engineering reviews, contracting strategy, constructability analysis, schedule and budget validation, material selection, and Lean construction planning.
  • Lead constructability analysis and optimization, and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Oversee construction execution in the field: identify, onboard, and manage on‑site CM resources; audit safety and quality plans; coordinate construction and installation phases; maintain integrated project schedules; audit contractor performance; manage resource requirements; provide accurate project status updates; set goals and drive commitments; ensure materials and equipment availability; manage field change documentation; support commissioning and start‑up.
  • Support competency development by training Chemours and contractor resources and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of construction management experience on industrial construction projects, progressing from a craft role to leadership.
  • Broad knowledge of capital project and support processes in at least one craft area (Civil/Structural, Process/Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation & Controls).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead/manage large capital construction projects and execute field work through contractors.
  • Experience in detailed planning, constructability analysis, and anticipating barriers or contingencies.
  • Knowledge of best practices for safety, contracting/sourcing, cost control, quality assurance, scheduling, project cycle time reduction, invoicing, value engineering, and front‑end loading.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to project locations.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience managing capital projects > $10M in a chemical plant setting.
  • Ability to motivate and lead on‑site CM teams and contractors.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in reviewing and validating estimates, developing plans and schedules.
  • Knowledge of change‑order procedures, contracting, and purchasing processes.
  • Lean methodology and critical‑path scheduling skills (e.g., Primavera).
  • Understanding of construction, site safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Networking, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office.

Compensation & Pay

Pay Range (in local currency): $ – $

Chemours Level: 28

Annual Bonus Target: 16%
