Job Description & How to Apply Below
Staff Electrical Engineer (Medical Device | Remote + Travel)
Build something that actually makes it to patients.
We’re partnering with an innovative medical device company developing advanced, battery-powered technologies that sit at the intersection of embedded systems, ASIC design, and wearable/implantable platforms.
This is not a “maintain what exists” role; this is about owning design, solving complex problems, and driving products from concept through launch.
What’s Attractive:- Remote-first environment with purposeful travel for key milestones and collaboration
- High-impact role with visibility across R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing
- Opportunity to work on Class II / III medical devices with real patient impact
- Influence architecture, design decisions, and long-term product strategy
You’ll play a lead role in the development of next-generation electrical systems, including:
- Architecting and developing embedded systems and ASIC-based designs
- Leading design efforts across concept, prototyping, verification, and launch
- Solving complex performance and reliability challenges using data, testing, and root cause analysis
- Driving system integration across sensors, connectivity (Bluetooth/NFC), and mobile interfaces
- Developing and executing test strategies, validation plans, and engineering documentation
- Partnering cross-functionally to ensure products meet quality, regulatory, and timeline expectations
- Mentoring engineers and contributing to overall technical direction
- 10–15+ years of experience in electrical engineering within regulated environments
- Strong background in:
- Mixed signal design, PCB development, embedded systems
- Battery-powered devices (medical device strongly preferred)
- ASICs and microcontroller-based systems
- Experience working on Class II or Class III medical devices
- Familiarity with Bluetooth, NFC/RFID, or similar connectivity technologies
- Ability to move between hands-on engineering and technical leadership
- Strong problem solver — someone who enjoys figuring out why things fail and how to fix them
