Field & Service Mechanic - 2nd or 3rd Shift; DFC

Description: You will be the Field & Service Mechanic - 2nd Shift for the aircraft maintenance team supporting the JSF program at the Patuxent River flight test site. This position will require the employee to work in a team environment maintaining F-35 aircraft. Tasks will include aircraft inspection, servicing, repair, overhaul, modification, fabrication and weapon loading as required.

• Perform inspections, servicing, repair, overhaul, modification, fabrication, and weapon loading on F-35 aircraft.
• Engage in all facets of F-35 maintenance, including routine checks and unforeseen challenges that arise with cutting‑edge aircraft technology.
• Participate in aircraft modification projects, bringing experimental technologies from blueprint to operational reality.
• Contribute to the development of groundbreaking technologies, including software, hardware, and advanced 5th Generation integration testing.

• Previous award of one of the following: USAF 5 or 7 Skill level, Navy NEC, Marine MOS discipline rating, Airframe and Power Plant license, or FAA license.
• Experience with one or more aircraft subsystems such as Hydraulics, Fuel, Engine, Electrical, Weapons Loading, Environmental, Structural Repair, Machine Shop, Communication, and Egress Systems.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and instructions.
• Experience with safety, tool control, FOD, supply, HAZMAT, training, quality, and security programs.
• Experience with maintenance documentation systems such as Electronic Maintenance Instructions and Aircraft Forms Documentation.

• Current 5th Generation Fighter experience, including but not limited to:
• A.L.I.S. CMMS/Documentation knowledge.
• Aircraft Engineering Instructions knowledge/understanding.
• NAVAIR 4790 familiarization.
• DCMA 8210 familiarization.
• A&P License or equivalent.
• Prior Plane Captain or Dedicated Crew Chief Qualification.

• Position requires a U.S. governmental security clearance; applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
• Clearance Level: Secret.
• Must possess an active Interim Secret clearance to start.

Standard Monday to Friday, 40‑hour work week (2nd Shift).
