Job Summary
Position:
Principal or Senior Principal Structural Engineer (Naval & Oceanic Systems).
Location:
Annapolis, MD. Travel 10% of time. Security clearance required: TS/SCI (US citizen).
- Perform linear and non‑linear structural analyses of individual components and complex underwater assemblies using hand calculations, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and bolted joint calculations.
- Lead a small team of structural analysts to support program analysis needs and ensure designs meet program requirements, schedule, and budget objectives.
- Collaborate in a team environment, prioritize tasks, and develop solutions to complex problems.
- Communicate results verbally and in writing.
- BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or equivalent STEM) plus minimum 5 years of structural and/or thermal analysis experience, or MS with minimum 3 years.
- Proficiency in FEMAP/Nastran or ANSYS, bolted joint analysis, structural hand calculations, and common engineering design, production, analysis, and office tools.
- US citizen with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance and pass a polygraph.
- BS in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or equivalent STEM) plus minimum 8 years of structural analysis and/or thermal analysis experience, or MS with minimum 6 years.
- Proficiency in FEMAP/Nastran or ANSYS, bolted joint analysis, structural hand calculations, and common engineering design, production, analysis, and office tools.
- US citizen with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance and pass a polygraph.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced environment with multiple simultaneous projects.
- Skills in shock, vibration, bolted joint calculations, fracture analysis.
- Experience with CFD analysis, materials design for undersea environment, manufacturing techniques, integration and test.
- Active Secret clearance.
