The Role As an R&D Engineer, most of all you’ll take ownership of our core sensor and hardware development, assembly and testing. You will work closely with photonics, micro-electronics, data science and experimental colleagues to design, assemble & test functional prototypes and drive our technology pipeline. Asides of sensor development, you will be involved in the design and development of many aspects of our new device, including chemistry, PCB design, analog electronics, mechanical design, data analysis, project management, CE/MDR/FDA compliance and commercialization.
Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the company and you will have the unique opportunity work on a cutting-edge technology that will satisfy your engineering as well as scientific curiosity. With the help of the team and experts, you will deliver the first alpha- version of our unique diagnostic device: a game-changer in the medical space!
Key Responsibilities
• Design, fabricate and test new sensor and hardware elements
• Validate theoretical sensor function by designing & running real-world experiments
• Assemble and test functional prototypes, ensuring manufacturability, scalability, cost reduction, compliance and commercial potential.
• Management of technical key projects with external stakeholders
• Maintain up-to-date R&D reports and SOPs
• Perform optical and electrical characterization (e.g., spectroscopy, microscopy)
• Contribute to risk assessment, roadmap and IP generation through documentation and technical insights
• Collaborate closely with experimental physicists, electronics engineers, and data scientists in defining technical and system specifications.
• Support ISO 13485-compliant R&D workflows
Minimum Qualifications
• MSc in Applied Physics, Nanotechnology, Electronics or related
• Strong organizational skills and structured working routines
• Hands-on experience with micro-manufacturing, electronics and/or mechatronics
• Familiarity with analytical equipment and processes
• Skilled in statistical data analysis
• Strong experimental documentation and reporting skills
• Proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment Nice‑to‑Have's
• Familiarity with plasma physics, microfluidics, or spectroscopy
• Experience contributing to scientific publications, IP or patent applications
• Experience working under ISO 13485 or similar standards

• Annual all‑in compensation between 36k - 46k (depending on experience).
