Sinclair Ventures deploys over $500 million of capital into lower-middle-market control investments, targeting companies generating $15-40 million of EBITDA across essential services businesses.
The firm operates with no fund life and no forced exits, enabling a patient, long-term ownership approach focused on real assets, real services, and real cash flow.
The Associate serves as the analytical engine of the deal team, with responsibility across the full private equity lifecycle. You will own the financial work on live transactions, lead research that shapes investment theses, and run point on diligence work streams alongside senior partners, with direct partner exposure throughout.
Responsibilities include building and owning LBO, operating, and returns models end-to-end across base, downside, and management cases; conducting industry and ecosystem research in target verticals including water and environmental services, infrastructure services, civil and site work, and industrial manufacturing; leading financial, commercial, operational, and legal diligence and coordinating quality-of-earnings providers, consultants, lenders, and counsel; preparing IC memos, lender materials, and management presentations;
and supporting portfolio companies on operating reviews, KPI reporting, and add-on acquisitions. The role also involves building firm infrastructure including pipeline systems, CRM, and diligence templates.
Requirements:
Strong financial modeling skills (LBO, DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions); prior investment banking or private equity experience; ability to lead diligence work streams independently; intellectual curiosity and strong work ethic; proven ability to source conviction-backed investment theses in industrial and services verticals.
