Position: MEDICAL CARE PROGRAM ASSOCIATE II (REPOST)

Overview

Responsible for reviewing and determining specialized financial and technical eligibility for individuals statewide applying for Home and Community Based Waivers (HCBS) Services, Institutions for Mental Disease, Employed Individuals with Disabilities (EID), Family Planning and Affordable Care Act (ACA), and Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) Medicaid programs. The position completes initial determinations, redeterminations, interim changes, and maintains ongoing case management for these programs.

Duties for staff assigned to EID include fiscal tasks such as premium calculation, invoice creation, and tracking premium collections.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate with customers, authorized representatives, and various agencies via telephone, fax, and e‑mail to conduct interviews and verify financial and technical information necessary for Medicaid applications and redeterminations.
  • Determine eligibility in a timely manner in accordance with policies and procedures, completing appropriate forms and ensuring notices are mailed.
  • Ensure eligibility determinations are accurate, as measured by SRS reviews, customer complaints, and appeals.
  • Complete interim changes promptly and accurately, following policies and procedures.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date database and tracking system information for reporting purposes.
  • Submit daily productivity reports for unit production and accountability purposes.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education:

    Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high‑school equivalency certificate.
  • Experience:

    Two years of clerical experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance, or federal or state entitlement program.
