Compass Government Solutions is seeking a
Pharmacy Technician to provide services at the
William Beaumont Army Medical Center
in
Fort Bliss, Texas
.

proposal effort
. We are currently accepting applications from experienced candidates to be considered if the contract is awarded.

Monday - Friday 5 AM to 4:30 PM (Subject to change in support of the mission)

Duties shall consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

• Receive and process orders for prescriptions. Screen ordersand prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and conformity to laws and regulations.
• Receive and review prescriptions for pharmaceuticals.
  
  Determine type of substance, strength, dosage, and quantity to be dispensed in accordance with accepted practice and pharmacy standingoperatingprocedures(SOPs). Coordinate with CP and Pharmacist to clarify issues or problems with dosing, interactions, or instructions.
• Obtainthepharmaceutical,preparepackagelabels,visuallyinspectthemedicationinthebottle tobedispensed, and verify the appropriate medication. Check the printed label affixed to the container against the original prescription for correctness.
• When the prescription has been filled and labeled,container is set aside for a final check by the Pharmacist.
• Provideinstructiontopatientsonproperuseofmedications,referringquestionsrequiringprofessionalknowledge and experience to a registered
  
  Pharmacist.
• Review stock levels to ensureappropriatenumber of pharmaceuticals are on hand. Complete the inventorying, receiving, and stocking of shelves for pharmaceuticals. Prepare replenishment orders, receive incoming stock, check for discrepancies, androtate stocks/supplies as necessary. Coordinate stock level changes asdeterminedby unusual increases or decreases in demand and seasonal requirements. Call attention to shortexpirationdates and unusual appearance ofitems.
• Conduct medication storageareasinspections.
  
  Assistin educating staff on the proper storage, access, and security of pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain security and limited accessofallpharmaceuticals. Participate incollectionandreview ofquality assurance data.
• Shall comply withall MTF productivity standards andmaintaina level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services.
• Shall comply withall health requirements, immunizations, and vaccinations.
• Shall complete all DoD, DHA, and MTF-specified training requirements.
• Shall personally record hours worked in the Defense Medical Human Resources System – internet (DMHRSi) system, or other system, as required by the MTF.

• Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a formal pharmacy technician program (i.e., technical, hospital, or retail0based program) or a formal medical services training program of the United States Military.

• Minimum of one (1) year experience within the last two (2) years working as a full-time pharmacy technician.

• Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
