Leidos, a leader in technology solutions for national security, is seeking qualified Information Security Professionals to support its Ft. Meade, MD Prime Program. Positions are open across multiple locations including North and South Laurel, Columbia, Annapolis Junction, Linthicum, and Ft. Meade.
Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)The ISSO is integral to safeguarding Leidos’ information systems. This role collaborates with cross‑functional teams to develop and maintain a robust security framework, protect systems against threats, and manage security policies and authorization processes.
Primary Responsibilities – ISSO- Propose, coordinate, implement, and enforce information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
- Maintain the operational security posture for information systems and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Manage security aspects of information systems and conduct daily security operations.
- Evaluate security solutions to meet requirements for classified information and conduct vulnerability/risk assessments to support certification and accreditation.
- Provide configuration management for security software, hardware, and firmware; manage changes and assess security impact.
- Prepare and review security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs) and Assessment and Authorization packages.
- Coordinate security authorization activities in accordance with DoD, NIST RMF, and customer‑specific policies.
The ISSE designs, develops, and implements secure information systems. This role integrates security measures into systems, ensuring resilience against threats and vulnerabilities throughout the lifecycle.
Primary Responsibilities – ISSE- Perform and review technical security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with IA standards.
- Validate system security requirements, design secure solutions, and integrate security capabilities across environments.
- Embed cybersecurity practices into operational systems, ensuring consistent application of security policies.
- Assess and mitigate system security threats and risks throughout the program life cycle.
- Apply system security engineering expertise in design, lifecycle, risk management, and testing using industry methods.
- Enforce trusted design and implementation of external system relationships and manage changes with security impact analysis.
- Support authorization activities per DoD, NIST RMF standards, and customer policies.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field and 12+ years of related experience. Candidates without a bachelor’s may be considered with an additional 4 years of experience.
- Level 1 – Bachelor’s and 7‑14 years of experience.
- Level 2 – Bachelor’s and 14‑20 years of experience.
- Level 3 – Bachelor’s and 20+ years of experience.
- DoD 8570 certification compliance (IAT II, IAM I/II/III, IASAE I/II/III, Security+, CISSP, CASP+ CE, ISSEP).
Must hold an active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
