Software Engineer 2 (Metrics & Monitoring)
Location:
Annapolis Junction, MD
Compensation Range: $170 - $190K
Clearance- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required for application
The Dev Ops Software Engineer shall be part of a team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining a comprehensive distributed Metrics and Monitoring solution for HPC systems to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of HPC infrastructure.
Qualifications- Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline plus three (3) years of SWE experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Or Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline plus five (5) years of SWE experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Or seven (7) years of experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Experience using the Linux CLI
- Experience using Linux tools and developing Bash scripts to automate manual processes
- Recent software development experience using Python
- Willingness to learn Splunk for data collection, message brokers, data storage, and presentation tools
- Familiarity with Log Management tools including Syslog-ng and rsyslog
- Familiarity with message brokers such as Kafka
- Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools, including Ansible
- Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as Git Lab CI
- Experience with Git source control system
- Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
