Information System Security Officer – Annapolis Junction, MD – Full Time – Entry Level

As an Information System Security Officer, you will support a program, organization's system, or enclave's information assurance program. You will support proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.

• Monitors and analyzes Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) to identify security issues for remediation
• Conducts regular audits to ensure that systems are operated securely and information systems security policies and procedures are implemented as defined in security plans
• Develops, tests, and operates firewalls, intrusion detection systems, enterprise antivirus systems, and software deployment tools
• Researches, evaluates, tests, and implements new security software or devices
• Implements, enforces, communicates, and develops security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, telecommunications, and information systems security education awareness programs
• Performs periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments, including user accounts, application access, file system, and external web integrity scans to determine compliance
• Communicates alerts to agencies regarding intrusions and compromises to their network infrastructure, applications, and operating systems

• 2-4 years of experience as an ISSO on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Experience includes at least one area: knowledge of current security tools and hardware/software security implementation; communication protocols; encryption techniques/tools
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to lead and work as part of a team
• High School Diploma or equivalent and (4) years' experience or bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university and (2) years experience

Certification in compliance with the requirements of the DoD 8570 IAT Level I or higher is required.

Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role.
