Position:
Windows System Administrator Job Duties
- Administrating day‑to‑day IT systems to include system availability, backup/restore, deploy/provision, configuration changes, maintaining and patching both physical and virtual environments.
- Performing software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
- Scheduling installations and upgrades in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
- Monitoring and tuning the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Monitoring vendor announcements and bulletins to ensure the latest patches and upgrades are tested, evaluated, and implemented according to customer standards.
- Installing and monitoring security‑auditing software and remediating defects based on customer security policies.
- Ensuring workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
- Developing and promoting standard operating procedures; providing technical oversight during installations and recovery projects.
Ten (10) years of experience as an SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity are required. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of SA experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree. DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 Certification (Security+) is preferred.
