Meaningful Work and Personal ImpactAs a Cybersecurity Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customer. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the security and integrity of the customer network.
Responsibility- Network Security Management:
Design, implement, and manage security measures to protect network and information systems. - Firewall Administration:
Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls to ensure optimal performance and security. - Cloud Deployment:
Deploy and manage Palo Alto firewalls in cloud environments, including AWS, GCP, and Azure. - Incident Response:
Investigate and respond to security incidents and potential threats, providing timely and effective resolutions. - Policy Implementation:
Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with organizational goals. - Continuous Monitoring:
Monitor network traffic and security alerts to identify and mitigate potential threats. - Collaboration:
Work with other IT and security team members to design, implement, and maintain security frameworks. - Documentation:
Maintain detailed and accurate records of configurations, changes, and security incidents.
- Education:
Bachelor of Science - Experience:
8+ years of related experience - Technical skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Palo Alto firewall configuration and management.
- Strong experience with deploying and managing Palo Alto firewalls in cloud environments, including AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security technologies.
- Proven experience with other security devices and platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) or AWS Certified Security - Specialty are a plus.
- Security clearance level:
Public Trust
- Experience with network monitoring and security tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS).
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
- Experience with scripting and automation tools.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices.
