Senior Systems Engineer

Glia Cell is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer on one of our subcontracts. This is a full‑time position offering the opportunity to support a U.S. Government customer. The mission is to provide technical expertise to sustain critical mission‑related software and systems on a large government contract.

Annapolis Junction, MD / Partial Telework (up to 16 hours per week).

The salary range is $170,000 to $260,000. SIGN‑ON BONUS eligible. Salary determined by experience, skills, education and certifications.

• Active or re‑instatable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline (or five (5) years of additional Systems Engineer experience may substitute).
• Works well independently as well as on a team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Background in compliance and Kubernetes.
• Strong grasp of Kubernetes networking, configuration, and deployment across secure environments.
• Proven ability to support compliance‑driven sustainment activities with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent collaboration skills with both technical team members and mission stakeholders.
• Solid documentation and tracking skills using enterprise tools.
• Ability to adapt quickly to evolving security and mission needs.

• Experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools such as Terraform, Salt, and Ansible.
• Familiarity with Rancher, Helm, and advanced Kubernetes features.
• Working knowledge of observability tools like Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Grafana.
• Security+ (CWIP) or equivalent certification preferred.
