Job Overview

PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a Tech‑support 3 in Annapolis, MD.

Pay: $29 – $34/hr.

This role supports the Tier 2 CAS Network Operations Center (NOC) and is responsible for incident management of customers within the CAS Operational environment. The position diagnoses failures of systems and networks and performs actions to resolve basic technical queries from Aerospace CAS customers and Business Units.

Shift
: MID Shift 11:00 pm – 7:30 am. 24×7 operation requires working some weekends and holidays.

• Monitor the network management system and engage telecom providers to drive restoral efforts.
• Track incident details and keep information updated in the incident management tool in a timely manner.
• Resolve systems and network problems/questions with limited scope and complexity.
• Apply technical knowledge to oversee high‑availability IP networks, messaging systems, and air‑to‑ground data communications equipment and systems.
• Identify resolutions of routine technical queries from Aerospace CAS customers and CAS Business Units.
• Take guidance from team members or management to resolve less routine issues.
• Work with senior team members to resolve moderate to complex issues with critical customer services; may take the lead on less complex issues.
• Use discretion to interpret and apply established processes; errors could cause prolonged or widespread failures.
• Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, resolve or escape network issues.
• Understand deployment, configuration, and maintenance routines and develop tools to make the process more efficient.
• Participate in network solutions design and configuration.
• Analyze issues and provide customers with guidance to resolve problems, with a focus on detail.

• Candidate will be trained sequentially on the three NOC positions over a 4–6 month period.
• Transport – Continuous monitoring from the core to the edge for all ARINC Global Network components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and circuits.
• Data Link – Continuous monitoring of the ground station/radios and central processing systems that enable air‑to‑ground datalink communications.
• Applications – Continuous monitoring of the central channels connected to routers that facilitate the daily flow of millions of messages.

• Network+ certification.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols, computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing.
• Knowledge of ITIL/ITSM concepts and practices.
• Experience troubleshooting Cisco devices.
• Experience with HSRP/BGP routing protocols.
• Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience with an A‑A or A‑S degree or other 2‑year post‑high‑school training, OR 2 years of experience with an HS diploma/GED.

• CCNA certification.
• Knowledge of Remedy, Netcool, Office 365, Service Now.
