Overview
Cyber Core is looking for a User Experience Designer 2.
Location:
Annapolis, MD. Active TS/SCI clearance with a current polygraph is required.
- Lead the plan, design and development activities to create the user experience for devices, tools and systems. Establish interactive conventions, assist in gathering user requirements, create screen mock-ups and help customers imagine new interaction techniques and technologies. Apply visualization and screen design expertise to deliver a successful user experience.
- Support the UX Lead by conducting user research sessions (interviews, usability tests, contextual inquiries) to collect raw behavioral and attitudinal data.
- Execute discussion guides, screeners, and research protocols as defined by the UX Lead.
- Observe and document user behaviors, pain points, and patterns during sessions, distinguishing what users say from what they actually do or need.
- Administer quantitative data collection methods (surveys, card sorting, tree testing) in support of research plans set by the UX Lead.
- Compile and organize raw research data (notes, session artifacts) into clean, structured formats for the UX lead to synthesize.
- Ten years of experience in User Experience Design.
- Five years of experience within the last 10 years leading project life cycle design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional UX design experience on projects with similar design may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
- Experience with Information Technology:
Three (3) years of experience with screen mock-up tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Visio, Axure) and related tools used to create visual displays and prototypes. - Hands-on experience conducting usability testing, interviews, and contextual inquiry directly with end users.
- Comfortable assisting research sessions alongside a UX Lead. Experience independently running research studies end-to-end (objective-setting, study design, execution, and synthesis) is a plus.
- Working knowledge of qualitative discovery methods (usability testing, contextual inquiry) and quantitative data collection methods (surveys, analytics review, A/B testing, card sorting, tree testing, session observation). Demonstrated experience is a plus.
- Strong note-taking and data-organization skills to capture and structure raw findings for leadership synthesis and analysis.
- Reliable, detail-oriented execution of research protocols with minimal need for independent research strategy or stakeholder presentation.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required
