MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACTAs a Virtualization Systems Administrator supporting Infrastructure Services, you willbe responsible forthe operation, sustainment, and security of enterprise virtual server environments across multiple networks and enclaves. You will ensure stability, compliance, and performance of hypervisors, virtual machines, and compute clusters. You will support technical troubleshooting, implement configuration baselines, apply security controls,monitorsystems health, andassistin the design and deployment of new virtual infrastructures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Administer,maintain, andoptimizevirtualized server environments including VMware,Hyper-V, and related hypervisor technologies
- Operate and maintain vCenter systems, including certificate lifecycle management, password oversight, and baseline updates
- Build,maintain, and troubleshoot virtual machines (Windows and Linux) to support mission applications and infrastructure services
- Monitorcomputeresource health, availability, and utilization;identify performance bottlenecks and recommend improvements
- Maintain configuration baselines for virtual hosts, hypervisors, VM templates, firmware, and golden images
- Maintain ATO compliance by supporting documentation, control implementation, and updates to system security baseline
- Performtimelypatching of hypervisors, virtual appliances, guest operating systems, and associated tools
- Build andmaintainvirtual machine templates, configuration profiles, and provisioning workflows to support consistent deployments
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Virtualization
Systems Administrator Senior - Requires a Bachelor’s degree in an IT‑related field or 8+ years of relevant IT experience in lieu of a degree.
Virtualization Systems Administrator Principal
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in an IT‑related field or 10+ years of relevant IT experience in lieu of a degree.CERTIFICATION: Meet DoD 8140 Information Assurance Workforce certification requirements (e.g. Security+ CE, etc.)
CLEARANCE: Active TS/SCI clearance with a favourable polygraph
- Hands on experience administering enterprise scalevirtualization platforms (VMware,Hyper‑V)
- Experience with Windows and Linux server administration in virtualized environments
- Strong background in patch management, vulnerability remediation, STIG compliance, and secure configurations
- Experience supporting clustered environments, vCenter operations, and hypervisor lifecycle management
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills
- US citizenship required
