Compensation: $188,000 – $210,000

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Windows System Administrator to join a high-performing Agile team operating within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) in support of a complex, fast-paced program. In this role, you will deliver daily systems administration and operations & maintenance (O&M) support across geographically dispersed systems. Key responsibilities include responding to systems engineering requests that fulfill operational needs, as well as engineering, deploying, and sustaining capabilities across virtualized Windows infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain multiple virtual server clusters, resolve system scan findings, implement vulnerability management patching, and handle Active Directory configuration issues.
  • Utilize enterprise monitoring tools to detect, assess, and remediate alerts and outages.
  • Provide technical support and collaborate cross-functionally with partner work groups on overlapping engineering initiatives.
  • Manage Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) and system security scans in alignment with System Security Plans (SSPs), ensuring timely vulnerability remediation.
  • Execute monthly security scans, implement remediation measures, and deploy security patches/updates to designated environments.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software system failures.
  • Communicate system outages, publish maintenance status updates, and proactively alert stakeholders to infrastructure delays that may impact operational functions.
  • Author and maintain comprehensive, precise technical documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Plan and execute IT modernization enhancements while supporting program project milestones.
  • Support operations and maintenance troubleshooting on an on-call rotation as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of dedicated Windows systems administration experience.
  • Security & Governance: Minimum 7 years of experience in information security management, demonstrating knowledge of security governance, risk management, compliance, and operational security functions.
  • Core Technical Competencies (5+ years of hands-on experience with each):
    • Implementing and administering Windows Active Directory (AD) and DNS environments.
    • Designing, configuring, and managing Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
    • Microsoft Exchange administration, including Exchange Management Shell.
  • Scripting & CLI: Hands-on proficiency with Windows Command Line, Power Shell, and automated Power Shell scripting.
  • Vulnerability Management: Direct experience with IAVA management and vulnerability remediation processes.
  • Systems Familiarity: Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, VMware virtualization, and core enterprise networking concepts (switches, routers, LANs, and cabling infrastructure).
  • Demonstrated commitment to change management protocols, maintenance windows, and ITIL best practices.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline with 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience documenting and supporting security accreditation and authorization (A&A / RMF) processes.
  • Familiarity with network security technologies, including multi-domain architectures, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), SSPs, and vulnerability scanning tools.
  • Experience with enterprise data center deployment, including rack-and-stack, power planning, and hardware placement.
  • Direct experience administering VMware vSphere environments.
  • Experience with configuration automation frameworks such as Ansible or Salt Stack.
  • Prior background serving as a System Administrator supporting software configuration management and development pipelines.
