Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to support our growing practice in Family Law, Probate Administration, and Estate Planning. The ideal candidate is an organized, “Maryland-savvy” professional who understands the nuances of local court rules and possesses the emotional intelligence to assist clients through sensitive life events.

Job Qualifications- Experience:
3+ years of paralegal experience specifically within the Maryland legal system. - Systems:
High proficiency in MDEC is required. Experience with case management software (e.g., Practice Panter, Clio) is preferred. - Local Knowledge:
Familiarity with the rules and procedures of the Maryland Circuit Courts, District Courts, Registers of Wills, and Orphans’ Court. - Education:
Paralegal certificate, Degree in Paralegal Studies or Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA) paralegal membership is a plus.
Maryland-Specific Responsibilities
- MDEC Mastery
:
Manage electronic filings via the Maryland Electronic Courts (MDEC) system for the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County and surrounding jurisdictions. - Family Law Litigation
:
Draft Maryland-specific pleadings and domestic forms, including Long/Short Form Financial Affidavits (CC-DR-030/031) and Joint Statements of Marital Property. - Probate Administration
:
Coordinate directly with the Maryland Register of Wills; prepare Inventories, Information Reports, and Accounts for estates. - Estate Drafting
:
Prepare initial drafts of Maryland-compliant Wills, Revocable Trusts, and Advance Directives/Powers of Attorney. - Court Liaison
:
Handle physical filings or document retrieval at courthouses and/or Registers of Wills when necessary. - Experience with legal research (Westlaw) and writing.
